One person was killed and five were seriously injured in a clash between bootleggers in Morbi in Rajkot district on Sunday evening.

RAJKOT: One person was killed and five were seriously injured in a clash between bootleggers in Morbi in Rajkot district on Sunday evening. Morbi police said Hitesh Savji, 23, was stabbed in chest and he died on the spot. The injured are being treated at Rajkot Civil Hospital and among them were Mustak Ali, Yunus Ali, Devang Vanand and Jignesh Bhojaviya.

Mustak Ali was arrested one and half years ago with foreign liquor worth Rs 1.5 lakh. Mustak told police that the liquor was supplied by a bootlegger named Tako. However, police failed to nab Tako, who is on the run since then. Mustak and Tako came face to face with each other in a restaurant on Sunday. They had heated argument and threatened each other. Mustak Ali was called by Tako at Kalika plot near Narmada Hall in the evening. When Mustak Ali and his five associates reached Narmada Hall, they were attacked by Tako and his men. The violence continued for half an hour in the area with miscreants armed with swords and knives attacking each other. In this clash, Hitesh Savji was killed on the spot while Mustak Ali and four others were seriously injured.
Rajkot hospital police registered a case and transferred it to Morbi police station.
